Required inputs

Touchdose generates patient-input-specific, medication-specific, and indication-specific dosing recommendations. For Touchdose to generate these recommendations, the Application requires the following information:

  • The necessary Patient Inputs.
  • The medication.
  • The indication for treatment.

Patient inputs can either be entered by the user or retrieved from an Electronic Health Record (EHR) depending on the configuration. Clinicians can follow different user journeys to provide the desired medication and indication inputs.

  1. Search by medication involves the clinician first selecting a medication from a list. Touchdose will then display a list of indications for which the selected medication can be used. Once an indication is selected, Touchdose is able to provide dosing recommendations.
  2. Search by indication requires the clinician to search for an indication they wish to treat by typing in at least three letters into the search bar. A list of indications will be presented, each associated with a medication that can be used for treatment. Selecting an indication and its corresponding medication enables Touchdose to provide dosing recommendations.
  3. In-order launch: Touchdose is launched from within the EP System with the medication context already set. The user's first step is to choose the clinical indication that the selected medication is intended to treat. The medication cannot be changed within Touchdose in this launch context. If the incoming medication context cannot be resolved, the user cannot proceed through this launch path. On completion, where supported by the integration, the resulting dose recommendation can be transferred back into the EP System's pre-signature order form (order writeback) — see Limitations relating to order writeback for the constraints.
